About Us

Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) was organized in 1967 as a non political, non profit making and representative chamber of businessmen of Bhaktapur district.

BCCI endeavors to represent the overall interest of industry and commerce in the district. Futhermore, it is an independent representative body of industry and commerce of district and has affiliation to the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI)

BCCI could be cited as an example of how an organization can develop within a short span of time. It had started its journey of organizational development in early 90s and developed so rapidly that it achieved the quality management system ISO 9001:2000 certification in the year 2003. This is the first historic move in Nepal’s chamber movement as well as in Business Membership Organization (BMO) community.

“Taking the leading role to develop and promote competitive commercial farming, sustainable tourism and exportable handicraft products along with other businesses of the district and remain leading organization in the community of Business Membership Organizations by expanding its congenial relationships with concerned organization in country and abroad.”

Mission

“To protect and promote the businesses of the district creating business environment and extending help in national development by the means of contribution in socio-economic development of the district.”

Legal Status

BCCI is registered under the government of Nepals’s Association\Organization Registration Act in district administrative office of Bhaktapur. The membership base of the chamber is based on volunteer wishes of the businesses.

Objectives of the Chamber:

This chamber has been active ever since its inception in achieving following objectives:
Strengthen national economy through management and promotion of local aggressive national and international trade.
Safe guard and enhance the interests , rights and privileges of the business and industry groups.
Forward remarks and recommendations on the policy matters,acts and bylaws, plans and programs related to economic development of the country.
Mediate on issues and disputes related to trade and industry.
Extend mutual understanding through exchange of ideas and cooperation among the organizations with compatible objectives.
